We LOVE Our Testimonials!

When I get letters from people telling me how much The Dailey Method has helped them, I can’t help but feel proud that TDM has touched so many people in such profound and positive ways.  This week I was reminded of how many of my own personal testimonials I could write. TDM has improved my personal level of fitness.  It has given me increased self-confidence and comfort in my own skin. It has provided me with a dynamic work environment and the support of an amazing community when I’ve needed it most.  The reason that I decided to blog about testimonials this month is that recently I had my own moment of gratitude and wanted share mine along with some of the inspiring stories from across the country that I am privileged to receive. So here goes!       - Jill

“My husband Doug has been really busy with work (38 studios and counting, not to mention the 3 kids!). When he has less free time, he tends to devote what he has to downhill biking and doesn’t maintain his over all fitness with his usual Dailey Method practice.  As a result, for the last few months he had been dealing with persistent back pain. Realizing he had so do something, he decided to recommit to taking class 3x a week.  After taking 3 classes a week for 2 weeks he began to feel better and then one day this week he literally bounded out of bed and said, “Wow! It worked! No pain at all.”  So thanks, TDM because a fit, pain free husband is a lot more fun for everyone!”

“Last year I came down with a pretty intense case of Mono, and haven't been able to keep a job or go about life like I usually do for almost a year now. By last December, after attempting to return to work, my exhaustion took a drastic toll and I was totally physically and emotionally broken. I had to resign from a new job, and as of January I couldn't leave my house without crying and spent most of the day in bed. A friend who recently became a doctor suggested that the most important aspect of my life I could change to improve my emotional stability was incorporating an exercise routine. This was exciting, since I'm a lifelong athlete, but daunting because I had been so physically run down for so long that I was worried intense exercise would exacerbate my health issues. But I'm so excited to say, that developing a regular routine at your studio has had the most incredible impact on my life, in all senses. I've been doing classes 3-4 times a week for 8 weeks now, and the change I can see in my body, my attitude, and my emotional stability is amazing. I've slimmed down in key areas, and like what I see in the mirror much more than I used to. But more importantly, I have more energy, am more upbeat, and have a much more positive outlook on life, and I mainly attribute that to your program. In fact, when people ask me what's going on in my life, I answer by saying "I've started doing the Dailey Method and I'm totally obsessed with it".

"Five years ago I suffered a major back injury while moving furniture.  I herniated two discs in my low back leaving me in agonizing pain and unable to walk.   As a mother of two small children and the owner of a staging and design company, this was a devastating injury. After six weeks flat on my back, I scheduled surgery as a final option.   My husband was terrified of surgery and brought me to an acupuncturist who was able to help me get walking again over the next few weeks.  Shortly after a dear friend suggested I try Dailey Method classes to strengthen my core.  I immediately felt a connection to this form of exercise! Slowly my back healed as my entire body strengthened and my spine lengthened. I loved the class and the sense of well being it gave me so much that I became an instructor and now own my own studio! Today I can honestly say I can't remember the last time my back hurt! I have completely rehabilitated my back injury through this class and found a passion in a work I love sharing with others.  Its sounds cliche but Dailey Method really has changed my life!”

“I took my first class at The Dailey Method in March 2010.   I was immediately hooked and took almost 30 classes that first month.  I quickly saw changes in my body, felt stronger, and as I strengthened my core, the chronic lower back pain I suffered from for years began to dissipate.  The instructors are always helpful and friendly and the positive energy could always be felt during class.  I quickly adopted Dailey Method as my favorite workout and combined with outside cardio and weight training became stronger than I’d ever been.   Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in early December of 2010 and have endured a multitude of surgeries and struggle since.   I spent many months in pain and unable to exercise.   I can’t begin to explain how much I missed the Dailey Method.  It’s a humbling experience to suddenly not be able to use your body the way you are accustomed to using it.   After my last surgery I returned to Dailey Method this past summer and could not have been happier.  Or more sore!  Those classes sure got harder during the time I was away!  I’m not as strong as I used to be, and push-ups are a thing of the past for now, but I look forward to getting stronger every day and I am thankful to be able to use my body again.  I get frustrated at times because I can’t do some of the exercises I used to be able to, but I know that I am lucky to be alive and working toward improvement each day.   I am very blessed to have so many wonderful family and friends and include everyone at Dailey Method in that list.   The kindness and concern you have shown me during this difficult part of my life is so greatly appreciated!    I am cancer free at this point in my life.    Simply put, Dailey Method boosts my mood and strengthens my mind and body. My advice to all of you is to continue nurturing yourselves and each other.   You never know what life will throw at you so make the best use of your time by strengthening your body, your mind, and your relationships as long as you have the ability to do so.   Thank you, Dailey Method for continuing to provide challenging classes and motivating me to look and feel my best."

"I began taking classes in September of 2010. I purchased the 1 month unlimited package in an effort to look great for my upcoming 20th high school reunion. My original plan was to just take classes for the month but then I was totally hooked! I really began to see a difference in my body when I stopped running around trying to take weight training and cardio classes. I saw the biggest change when I began to TRUST the Dailey Method and started coming to class 3-5 times a week. My pant size a year ago was a 10/12. I now wear a size 6.  It should be noted that the staff at the Dailey Method was an important part of this journey for me. There was always a smiling face at the front desk, telling me to have a great class. There were always kind words from the instructors and owners. There is such a sense of community at the Dailey Method. When I take a class I can put all the other “stuff” I have to do that day on the back burner. For one hour, I can focus on my myself, my alignment, my breath, my core and my practice, leading to longer, leaner muscles.  Thank you, Dailey Method LaGrange!"

  1. I love hearing how the method helps weak backs (like mine) and slims bodies. I am looking into starting classes but I am SOOOOO out of shape. I'm scared I will be the only one who can't keep up.
